On Friday, 28 August, you can find me in Nationalpark Vadehavet’s tent at Tønder Festival. Here, Nationalpark Vadehavet invites you to join a creative workshop where we cut new Wadden Sea Creatures from discarded gift wrap – giving the paper a new life instead of letting it go to waste.
The workshop is inspired by my papercut universe Dream Creatures, where imagination leads the way and colours, patterns and torn edges become animals that have never existed. But this time, we turn our attention to the Wadden Sea. Together, we create imaginative creatures that could belong in a richer, wilder and more diverse Wadden Sea – small visions of what nature might hold if we gave it more space and more variation.
Throughout the workshop, I guide participants through the process, where scissors, paper and imagination transform into unique Wadden Sea Creatures. The activity is open to all ages, and no previous experience with papercutting is needed. You only need the desire to create, play and give new life to materials that would otherwise be thrown away.
I hope to see you in the Wadden Sea tent – for a creative, cosy moment filled with new creatures from both the world of imagination and the Wadden Sea.
